 Named for the family who expanded the Inn to its current size in 1853, the Teter-Wood room is on the first floor and was formerly the family library. Gracious in proportions, it features a handmade cherry Shaker-style, pencil post queen-size bed, comfortable seating and a new bathroom with a ceramic tile shower - complete with a basketful of toiletries, a hair dryer, and plush robes.
 A cozy electric fireplace stove sits on the old hearth. The Teter-Wood room may be entered from a private doorway on the side of the house, and has limited handicap access. It also has a private outside seating area adjacent to our shade garden and with a view of the back yard and the barn.
Our only first-floor room, Teter-Wood is appropriate as senior travel vacation accommodations. Its veranda gives it a private suite feel, a perfect Virginia retreat in Goshen.

All Rooms: Private baths, thick cotton towels, cotton robes (heavy terry in Winter, light cotton in Summer), all-cotton 300-thread-count sheets, feather beds, down comforters in season, two down pillows and two foam pillows, room air-conditioning in season, ceiling fans, hair dryers, ample reading lamps, bed-side tables, snack basket, wine glasses and corkscrew, fresh flowers, just-baked cookies, postcards, bathroom amenities including Hummingbird Inn shampoo with conditioner, lotion, bath salts, shower cap, toothpaste, and lemon and balsam soaps. Daily maid service.
An iron and ironing board are available. Coffee, tea, and ice water are available in the dining room for the asking. Sodas and brownies are always in the den. There is also a portable phone, a satellite TV, VCR, and DVD player in the den for guests to use. The inn has wireless internet access. The innkeepers live on-premises and are always available to answer calls from home, day or night, give advice, and help in any way they can during your stay.
